The Menoufia Water and Wastewater Company launched campaigns to educate citizens about the dangers of encroaching on drinking water and sewage lines in light of the directives of the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities and the Holding Company on the necessity of implementing these campaigns to educate citizens about the danger of encroaching on drinking water and sewage networks or using drinking water for purposes other than that. allocated to it, in addition to the prohibition of surreptitious connections.
Dr. Engineer Mohamed Naguib Saleh, President of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Company in Menoufia, confirmed: He emphasized the importance of preserving water resources and working to reduce the percentage of water loss, ensuring that water reaches sufficient quantities to all citizens in the various centers and cities of the governorate, pointing out the magnitude of the enormous challenges we face in order to obtain a clean cup of water.
He explained that infringement on drinking water and sewage lines negatively affects the quantities of water supposed to reach citizens, and also affects the quality of water provided to citizens, as a result of delivery by methods that do not conform to the correct technical specifications.
He pointed out that the company launched campaigns in various regions of the governorate; To educate citizens about the danger of trespassing on drinking water and sewage lines, and to urge and guide citizens on proper behavior in dealing with water and the danger of waste, the importance of maintaining sewage networks, and to introduce citizens to water-saving parts and their importance in rationalizing consumption and their role in saving the value of the water bill.
He said: The company firmly confronts such infringements, pointing out that all necessary legal measures have been taken against those trespassing on drinking water and sewage networks.
He stressed that the company is making a great effort to reduce waste and confront stealth connections, through purchasing new meters and replacing broken meters, installing prepaid meters, allowing code meters, expanding stealth committees and increasing their number, replacing and renewing within the limits of available financial capabilities, expansion. In programs to detect leakage and reduce DMA losses, in addition to producing advertising materials to educate citizens about rationalizing water consumption.
