Menoufia Water participates in a water service convoy at Umm Khanan facility as part of the “New Beginning” initiative.
The Menoufia Drinking Water and Wastewater Company launched a series of comprehensive water convoys, in light of the directives of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater, headed by Engineer Mamdouh Raslan, aiming to provide drinking water and wastewater services, and raise and enhance water awareness for different age groups in the villages and cities of Menoufia Governorate.
Eng. Rushdi El-Sayed Omar, the company’s chairman, pointed out that a water service convoy was organized in the village of Manshiyat Umm Khanan in Qawisna Center, in cooperation with the Menoufia Health Directorate, which included implementing several activities such as taking random water samples from citizens’ homes to ensure their quality and compliance with the standard specifications for drinking water, and direct awareness campaigns with citizens to encourage rationalization of water consumption, the need for optimal use of sewage networks, and the danger of dumping solid waste in sewage networks, in addition to distributing brochures containing many water awareness messages.
He added that the awareness team implemented a group of activities and interactive games for students of Dr. Hussein Hathoot Elementary School in Manshiyat Umm Khanan, aiming to enhance the concept of awareness of the importance of preserving every drop of water, and avoiding wrong practices in dealing with water and sewage networks.
He explained that many activities were implemented for the school students, including implementing competitions for students, an awareness seminar on rationalizing consumption, forming a water family, interactive activities and games, drawing, coloring, face painting, implementing a puppet theater, displaying educational materials, distributing brochures, installing energy-saving parts, and repairing plumbing.
He stressed that the company continues its positive participation in the activities of the presidential initiative "New Beginning", aiming to provide distinguished services and enhance the culture of water awareness among the citizens of Menoufia Governorate.
