The head of the Menoufia Water Authority is monitoring the pumping of rainwater accumulations in the governorate.
Engineer Rushdi El-Sayed Omar, Chairman of the Menoufia Drinking Water and Sanitation Company, confirmed that the company has raised its readiness level to the highest degree to quickly deal with rainwater. He stated that company teams have been deployed to clear drains in case of any blockages, and that vacuum trucks have been deployed to pump out water, preventing traffic congestion, especially in the governorate's cities.
He added that the necessary teams and equipment have been deployed to remove rainwater accumulations from streets, squares, and tunnels to ensure the smooth removal of any water accumulations and to guarantee that the rain does not impede the movement of citizens.
He emphasized the need to take all necessary measures, ensure the readiness of equipment, and redeploy it to accommodate water pumping operations. He also stressed the importance of intensifying field patrols in areas prone to rainwater accumulation, continuing the cleaning of sewage networks, and maintaining the presence of vacuum trucks ready to pump out rainwater as soon as it accumulates, thus preserving the smooth flow of traffic.
Furthermore, he confirmed that the company receives any reports of rainwater accumulation and will respond immediately to pump and remove it by calling the hotline 125 from any landline or mobile phone.
