  • Today, Major General Amr El-Gharib, Governor of Menoufia, held a meeting to discuss and review the current status and progress of several drinking water and sanitation projects within the governorate. The meeting addressed obstacles to implementation and explored ways to overcome them to accelerate completion rates and expedite work, paving the way for the projects to become operational. This aims to improve the level of services provided to citizens. The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohamed Moussa, Deputy Governor; Engineer Roshdy Omar, Chairman of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Company; and Engineer Mohamed Yousry, Director General of Project Implementation at the Executive Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation. During the meeting, the Governor discussed several drinking water and sanitation projects individually. The meeting reviewed implementation rates, progress, and ongoing work phases, including the new water filtration plant in Tahway, which is 99% complete and is expected to be handed over within two months, paving the way for its commissioning. Also discussed were the iron and manganese removal plant in Geris, Ashmoun, and the water treatment plants in Hamoul (Menouf), El-Bagour, and Berket El-Sabaa. This is part of the ongoing monitoring to ensure the timely completion of targeted projects and the provision of services to citizens as required.
  • The governor also reviewed the implementation status of several ongoing sanitation projects across the governorate's districts and cities. These include projects from the first phase of the presidential initiative "Decent Life," as well as those targeted in the second phase. He also reviewed a number of other projects currently underway in the governorate's districts and cities, including the treatment plants in Khatatba, Kafr Dawoud in Sadat City, Bahnay and Kom El-Dabaa in El-Bagour, Darajil in El-Shohada, the main and secondary Kamshish plants, Kafr Rabie, Kafr Askar in Tala, Kafr Abshish, Manshaat Umm Khanan in Quesna, and the expansion of the Barakat El-Sabaa plant, among others. This is all part of the state's plan to expand sanitation services in villages and improve the level of services provided to citizens. The governor of Menoufia stressed the need for full coordination between all relevant authorities and implementing companies to overcome any obstacles that may hinder implementation on the ground. He also requested a detailed report outlining the actual timelines for all projects, emphasizing the importance of regular and continuous field monitoring of all projects to ensure their progress and achieve tangible completion rates in the coming period. The governor also stressed the importance of adhering to the approved technical specifications and standards in implementing projects, in order to ensure the provision of a distinguished and sustainable service to citizens, stressing that the governorate continues to support infrastructure projects, especially drinking water and sanitation projects, due to their pivotal role in improving the level of services and raising the quality of life in villages and cities alike.
