Menoufia Water: Low pressure in the Ashmoun city network - Mahalla Sabk village for 10 days.
The Menoufia Drinking Water and Sanitation Company announced low water pressure in the Ashmoun city network and the village of Mahalla Sabk. The company attributed the issue to the Irrigation Department's commencement of dredging work on the Na'na'iya Canal, starting Tuesday, June 23, 2026, and continuing for 10 days, which is causing increased turbidity in the canal.
Engineer Rushdi El-Sayed Omar, Chairman of the Menoufia Drinking Water and Sanitation Company, explained that the low water pressure in the Ashmoun city network and the village of Mahalla Sabk is due to the temporary shutdown of the water treatment plant and the operation of alternative artesian wells until the dredging is completed and the turbidity decreases.
The company stated that disinfection will begin on the days of the high school exams from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and on all other days from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
The company urges citizens, hospitals, and bakeries to secure their water needs during these periods.
