"Menoufia Water" launches field awareness campaigns on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.
Dr. Engineer Mohamed Naguib Saleh, Chairman of the Menoufia Water and Wastewater Company, directed the awareness management team to implement field awareness campaigns on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, in all cities of the governorate, as it is expected that an increase in citizens’ uses of drinking water during the Eid period will result in an increase in the burden on the drainage networks. Naguib added, the awareness team visits the butcher shops and citizens in the markets in the governorate centers on the ground, to urge them to deal well with the sewage networks and dispose of sacrificial slaughter waste properly while preserving water and rationalizing its use during the periods of Eid Al-Adha.
He pointed out that the awareness campaigns being implemented aim to change the wrong behaviors of some citizens in wasting drinking water, or mishandling sewage networks, in order to introduce the environmental and health damage resulting from these behaviors in order to preserve sanitation projects that cost the state millions of pounds, as well as Educating butchers about preserving drinking water, reducing the amount of water used, and not throwing sacrificial waste into sewage networks, which exposes many areas to overflowing and causes suffering to citizens.
The campaigns included sending messages urging citizens to conserve every drop of water, not to throw waste into the sewage, to use bags to collect sacrificial waste to keep the sewage networks from being clogged, and to avoid cutting off the water for several hours until the disinfection process is completed or the fractures are repaired, which are reported for free.
